How to Reach Elephant Beach

There are two ways to reach Elephant Beach – by boat or by trekking.

Elephant Beach by Boat from Havelock Jetty

The most popular way is by fiber speed boat from Havelock Dock.

  • Duration: 20–30 minutes
  • Boats run in fixed time slots
  • Limited number of boats allowed per day
  • Permits are required

Important: Boat tickets are usually pre-booked one day in advance. On-the-spot booking is difficult because slots fill up quickly.

If you are planning to visit Elephant Beach, make sure you:

  • Plan in advance
  • Reserve boat tickets early
  • Reach jetty on time

Sea conditions are usually calm in the morning, so early trips are preferred.

To reach Havelock Island, you first take a ferry from Port Blair.

Elephant Beach by Trekking Through the Jungle

If you love nature and adventure, you can choose the jungle trekking route.

  • Walk duration: 30–45 minutes
  • Trail passes through forest
  • You may spot birds, insects and reptiles
  • Beautiful natural surroundings

The feeling when you finally see the blue sea between the trees is truly magical.

However:

  • The trekking path is not very smooth
  • Not recommended for kids or elderly travellers
  • Requires moderate physical fitness

Very Important Note: If you go by trek, you must return by trek only. There is no one-way trekking option.

So plan this only if you are comfortable walking both ways.
