Located on beautiful Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep), Elephant Beach is the most happening beach for water sports in Andaman.
If Radhanagar Beach feels peaceful and romantic, Elephant Beach feels energetic and adventurous. This is where travellers come to dive into the sea, explore coral reefs, try thrilling activities, and create some of their happiest island memories.
Every day, hundreds of travellers head here for a coral island experience that stays in the heart long after the trip ends.
How to Reach Elephant Beach
There are two ways to reach Elephant Beach – by boat or by trekking.
Elephant Beach by Boat from Havelock Jetty

The most popular way is by fiber speed boat from Havelock Dock.
- Duration: 20–30 minutes
- Boats run in fixed time slots
- Limited number of boats allowed per day
- Permits are required
Important: Boat tickets are usually pre-booked one day in advance. On-the-spot booking is difficult because slots fill up quickly.
If you are planning to visit Elephant Beach, make sure you:
- Plan in advance
- Reserve boat tickets early
- Reach jetty on time
Sea conditions are usually calm in the morning, so early trips are preferred.
To reach Havelock Island, you first take a ferry from Port Blair.
Elephant Beach by Trekking Through the Jungle

If you love nature and adventure, you can choose the jungle trekking route.
- Walk duration: 30–45 minutes
- Trail passes through forest
- You may spot birds, insects and reptiles
- Beautiful natural surroundings
The feeling when you finally see the blue sea between the trees is truly magical.
However:
- The trekking path is not very smooth
- Not recommended for kids or elderly travellers
- Requires moderate physical fitness
Very Important Note: If you go by trek, you must return by trek only. There is no one-way trekking option.
So plan this only if you are comfortable walking both ways.
